About the UP Broadcasters' Guild

The UP Broadcasters’ Guild is the first socio-civic organization in the College of Mass Communication, University of the Philippines Diliman. The UP Broadcasters’ Guild is representative of students whose main goal is to promote media education in student activities with the purpose of community development and to advocate freedom of the press through responsible use of mass communication.

The Whirl is the UP Broadcasters' Guild official publication and newsletter. What started out as an online magazine has now evolved into this very website, with the goal of creating relevant and accessible content in mind.

The new and improved The Whirl strives to keep the community up-to-date on issues and current events, all while promoting advocacies that are in line with the organization's nature. We believe that The Whirl must serve as a vehicle of the promotion of social awareness for a positive change.
